Fatmire Bekiri

Head of Tokenization

Fatmire Bekiri is Head of Tokenization at Sygnum Bank, a position she has held since January 2022. She leads the bank's tokenization department, focusing on bringing assets onto public blockchains using Sygnum's proprietary issuance platform. Her work has included the tokenization of a Picasso artwork, representing the first time a regulated bank transferred ownership rights of an artwork onto a public blockchain. She led the tokenization of USD 50 million of Matter Labs' treasury reserves into Fidelity International's Institutional Liquidity Fund, issuing security tokens on the zkSync blockchain as on-chain proof-of-reserves. She also led the issuance of the Float Token, a private debt asset token launched on the Polygon blockchain providing exposure to a portfolio of SME loans to European SaaS and technology businesses—described at launch as the first high-yielding private market instrument made widely available to investors through tokenization.

Prior to joining Sygnum, Bekiri held the role of Senior Vice President in Tokenization and Corporate Finance at Sygnum Bank from July to December 2021. Before that, she was a member of the management team at Aargauische Kantonalbank's credit competence centre from August 2020 to June 2021. From June 2013 to February 2020, she worked as Corporate Finance Manager at IFBC AG, an independent Swiss financial advisor specialising in corporate finance and M&A. She holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Banking and Finance from the University of Zurich.
